Nabunturan Events: Bb. Nabunturan 2014 Coronation Night

A celebration of sophistication and grace. One of the many ways, of showcasing the beauty of talent of people, Nabunturan will crown a new queen on July 22, 2014 at Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School Gym.



From 17 contestant, the girls will be narrowed down to twelve after the second leg of the Preliminary Competition, which includes the Festival Costume. According to this noteFestival Costume – are lavishly embellished costumes worn by Festival Queens. Any sort of material may be used in the execution of the design depending on the theme or concept of the designer. Designs may be of Neo-Ethnic Inspiration and may be based on indigenous patterns and designs of the four cultural communities of Nabunturan (Mansaka, Mandaya, Dibabawon and Mangguwangan).

After the scores are tabulated, the twelve girls will compete with the following:








  • One-piece Swimsuit – From the term itself, this category showcases a modern woman in a conservative swimwear complete with sarong or coverlet and shall be modeled in good tastes. They will be judge by  beauty of face, figure, physical fitness, modeling ability, personality, grooming, poise and over-all performance. 








  • Long Gown Competition – This is a showcase of a woman’s elegance and panache wearing pageant gowns. All delegates must wear a gown of their choice and must exude grace, poise, elegance and sophistication. Judges will be evaluating the gown and how well it suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as the delegate’s on-stage presentation. Finalists may wear another gown for this round or she may wear the same gown she wore on the Preliminary Competition.    Judging Criteria –beauty of face, figure, modeling ability (sense of style and the beauty she brings to the gown), personality, grooming, poise and over-all performance. 

  • Five girls will advance to the last round which is Final Question and Answer Portion. Each one of the girls will be asked with the same question, the other girls will be wearing headphones or will be confined in a vehicle, as their co-competitors delivers their reply. They will be judge according to poise, personality, character, charm, grooming, and fashion sense, conversational skills (self – confidence and her ability to communicate), knowledge of platform and current events, as well as the substance of her answers.

    The winner will be determined from scores gathered from the following

    One-piece Swimsuit- 33.3%
    Long Gown Competition- 33.7%
    Final Question and Answer Portion -33%
